The Red Line Shattered: Qatar Expels Iranian Diplomats After Massive Swarm Attack

The Lead:

The diplomatic “bridge” between Doha and Tehran has officially collapsed. Following a devastating aerial assault on Qatar’s industrial heartland, the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs has ordered the immediate expulsion of Iranian embassy security personnel. With Martial Law in effect and the energy markets in turmoil, the Gulf has entered its most dangerous chapter in decades.

The Breaking Point: 40 Minutes of Chaos

The decision to sever ties follows a sophisticated, high-intensity raid launched early this morning. This was not a localized skirmish, but a coordinated attempt to saturate Qatari airspace.

  • The Swarm: In a window of just 40 minutes, Qatar was targeted by 45 advanced drones and 12 cruise missiles.

  • The Interception: Working in tandem with U.S. forces at Al Udeid, the Qatar Emiri Air Force (QEAF) deployed F-15QA Ababilfighters to intercept the threats. Qatari NASAMS and Patriot PAC-3 batteries successfully neutralized 38 drones and 9 missiles.

  • The Impact: Despite an 82% interception rate, three missiles evaded defenses, striking the Ras Laffan Industrial City. The resulting “extensive damage” to LNG processing units has sent global gas prices soaring.

Why Today? Beyond the Base

While the U.S. presence at Al Udeid remains a factor, today’s expulsion is about Qatari sovereignty. For the first time, Doha is treating Iranian personnel not as diplomatic guests, but as a direct security threat. Intelligence suggests the move was triggered by evidence that embassy staff provided real-time targeting data for the Ras Laffan strike.

What’s Next?

With the 24-hour deadline for expulsion looming and the Strait of Hormuz under threat, the world watches to see if this is the start of a regional war or a desperate final attempt at deterrence.
